Originally formed in 2003 as an Aidan Baker solo project, the now-duo creates
ambient-drone-metal, combining ambient electronics & fragmentary vocals with snail-crawl,
epic riffs & dirge-like percussion.
Ever since their inception, NADJA have been quite prolific within experimental music scenes, and quickly
gaining a reputation with their solidified sound, which unearths itself as intense and moving ambient drone
doom metal, combining ambient electronics and fragmentary vocals with snail-crawl, epic riffs and dirge-like
percussion, all tempered with a certain ethereal melodicism such that the listener is enveloped in a swirling,
sublimating wall of amorphous, cacophanous sound.
By gaining a respectable reputation from playing many shows and art exhibitions, NADJA have quickly earned
themselves the title of Canada’s most respectable act within this specific genre of extreme music.
To date NADJA has released 5 full-length cdrs, an EP, split releases with Moss and Methadrone, and has
appeared on several compilations. They released their official debut CD release this past year on the
respected label Alien8 Recordings.
